Alterian Professionals Certification
Professionals using Alterian's suite of marketing technology solutions can now gain recognition of their proficiency in the use of these technologies by becoming certified. Alterian Certification is a rigorous, objectively assessed process that allows those who attain it to demonstrate their expertise in the use of Alterian technologies.
What Certifications are Available?
Currently the following Certification Titles can be gained:
- Alterian Content Management
- Alterian CM Development Expert (ASP.NET)
- Alterian CM Platform Administration Expert (Windows)
- Alterian Marketing Suite
- Alterian Marketing Suite Applications Expert
- Alterian Marketing Suite Applications Expert
- Others
- Certification for SM2, Dynamic Messenger and Alterian alchemy™ will become available during 2011.
How is Certification Attained?
For each of our main technology areas, Alterian Marketing Suite, Alterian Dynamic Messenger, Alterian SM2 and Alterian Content Management on line assessments are being, or have already been developed. These assessments are related to the training that covers the product knowledge required to effectively deploy that technology to supply business solutions but, in order to allow those who have attended appropriate training in the past to now gain certified status, assessments can be sat independently of training courses.

What does it Cost?
The first attempt at any assessment is free and if you fall short of the mark and have to try again the first re-sit is also free. After that we reserve the right to charge and strongly suggest that you attend the appropriate training which will line you up to two further free attempts.
How do I Apply to take an Assessment?
In order to sit assessments you need to register. To do this go to the Alterian eLearning Portal and follow the steps under ‘Is this your first time here’ section. This only need be done once regardless of how many assessments you intend to sit.
- If you are Booking Training
Simply book the training course as usual and make sure you have registered for assessments as explained above. During the training your Trainer will explain how to access the assessment and provide you with the required enrolment key. If you do not feel ready to sit the assessment at the end of the training course you can postpone it and take it at a time of your own choosing by following the steps under ‘Booking an Assessment Independent of Training’.
- Booking an Assessment Independent of Training
Make sure you have registered for assessments on the Alterian eLearning Portal (see above under ‘Register’). Send an email to certificates.training@alterian.com stating which assessment(s) you wish to sit. You will receive an email advising you of the enrolment key(s) you must use. Go to the Alterian eLearning Portal and select the assessment(s) you want to sit. (Please note – enrolment keys remain valid for fourteen (14) days from date of issue, after that you will have to apply for new keys.)
